Major Achievements

  • Camp 3rd in the 2019 annual MSF Olympics Midlands and North out of 17 groups.
  • Two annual camps per year, winter and summer, attended by the whole group.
  • Rapid expansion from only 4 sections (Cubs x2 and Scouts x2) in 2005 to 7 sections (Beavers x1, Cubs x2, Scouts x2 and Explorers x2) in 2010. Currently, most sections also have waiting lists.
  • Annual participation in Scout District “Faiths for Fun”- an interactive inter-faith experience.
  • Took part in a national delegation of Muslim scouts who attended Hajj as part of an exchange programme with the Saudi Boys Scouts in 2005.
  • Sent a delegation of adult volunteers to attend the Centenary World Scout Jamboree in 2007.
  • Running an annual Iftar day out for members every Ramadan.
  • One of the founding members of the Muslim Scout Fellowship, an umbrella organisation that promotes and supports scouting in the Muslim community.
  • Annual attendance at Muslim Scout Fellowship Olympics and Young People’s Camp.
  • International Scouts trip to Morocco 2017 in which 19 of our scout girls and boys travelled to Morocco where they camped, went camel riding and hiked up the stunning Atlas Mountains. They also met up with Moroccan scouts and raised funds that they used to gift orphans in the orphanage with.
  • Fifth anniversary group trip to Italy- 50 members of our group travelled by coach to Italy where we camped and went white water rafting in the mountains. We also visited the historic city of Verona and met up with scouts in Italy.
HM King Charles III has been confirmed as our new Patron, a great honour for UK Scouts.

The King continues a long tradition of the monarch giving their Patronage, dating back to 1912. This was when Scouts was granted its Royal Charter and HM George V became our first Patron.
